Traineeships
There is no formal definition for a Traineeship period in Cyprus, nor a law concerning such period of practical training in companies / organisations.
Since 2013, the Human Resources Development Authority (HRDA), has been appointed the competent authority by the Ministry of Labour, Welfare and Social Insurance, for developing and executing Active Labour Measures in relation to practical training and traineeships in Businesses and employers.
While most internships in Cyprus are not paid, several internship programs will provide interns with a stipend to cover living costs. In any case, be sure to discuss the conditions of your internship placement with your employer if you have any specific questions.
