Gross salaries in Cyprus are generally a little lower than in many other European countries, however, as the island currently offers one of the lowest income tax levels within Europe, an employee’s net salary is often higher due to the lower levels of cost-of-living and low taxation rates.
Traditionally, the tourism and services industries are the economy main sectors: for seasonal workers there are always vacancies in the hotel and restaurant business, and in the agricultural industry. Highly qualified IT specialists, financial service experts, lawyers, engineers, builders are also in demand.
It is worth noting that the majority of the vacancies are in cities such as Nicosia (the capital of Cyprus) and Limassol; only for employment in the tourism industry, the best locations would be Larnaca, Paphos, Agia Napa, Protaras, Paralimni.
