Transport

Travelling around Finland is easy and public transport is extremely efficient, well maintained and safe.

By plane
The main gateway is Helsinky-Vantaa International Airport, which has around 80 scheduled destinations to other parts of Europe and 21 direct long-haul routes to Asia, the Middle East, and North America.

By train
Whether your journey is short or long, a train will take you there. The rail network stretches all over the country. On the national train operator's website, you can find railways stations and routes, timetables, and even trips suggestions.
For quick cross-country journeys, search for high-speed Pendolino trips between major cities or fast InterCity rides. Express and Regional trains are slower and stop at plenty of tiny stations in between the big hubs. Finland is also well integrated into the Eurail and Interrail ticket systems.

By bus
Finland's bus network is one of the most comprehensive in Europe, covering more than 90% of public roads. You can take the bus to reach most cities, towns and villages in the country and fares are reasonable.

The Perille service will help you find in one place the options for travelling by train, bus or plane, which would suit you best, comparing prices, timetables, distances, routes and even the amount of CO2 emissions.
