Job market
Germany is a giant industrial laboratory, famous for the quality of its production and design, especially in the automotive and electronics sectors. The country has survived the economic crisis well, even recording employment growth in the face of rising unemployment rates observed in other European states.
Jobseekers are more likely to find a job in southern Germany or in the south-western regions, while unemployment in the eastern Länder, although decreasing, is still very high compared to the western part of the country.
As regards the most dynamic sectors: there is a demand for specialised personnel in technical and engineering fields as well as in IT jobs. In addition, there is a shortage of personnel in the construction and health care sectors, particularly in midwifery.
