Language Learning
Norway has two official languages: Norwegian and Sami. Sami refers to a group of similar ancient languages spoken by the Sami, the indigenous people of Norway. There are two main dialects of Norwegian: Bokmål and Nynorsk.
For Norwegians the dialect makes up an important part of their identity, and by listening to a person's dialect we can in most cases determine with good accuracy from which part of the country he or she is from.
English is also widely spoken in Norway.
