Language Learning
The official language in Slovakia is the Slovak language. Speaking a language like Slovak in Central and Eastern Europe can be very useful especially because people speak Slavic language in Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, Czech Republic and Balkans. However, speaking this language is not easy and requires a lot of practice.
Foreigners can attend Slovak language courses at university or at several state and private language schools like:
- Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies for Foreigners and Compatriots at the Comenius University;
- Studia Academica Slovaca (SAS) – Centre for Slovak as a Foreign Language at the Comenius University.
Courses of Slovak language are also organised by private language schools like Eurolingua or by state language schools as the following in Bratislava: www.1sjs.sk/.
You can also improve your Slovak using e-learning websites, publications and handbooks:

- E-Slovak (Website)
- We learn Slovak (Website)
- "Slovenčina ako cudzí jazyk" (YouTube Channel)
