Slovakia has an efficient public transport system made up of four principal model of transport that allow you to get in the country and to move around.
By plane
There are three public international airports in Slovakia with scheduled flights in Bratislava, Košice and Poprad-Tatry.
These international airports have direct connections to larger European cities. M. R. Štefánika Airport Bratislava (BTS) is the biggest international airport of the Slovak Republic. It is located 9 km from the city centre of the capital. Passengers may also use the nearby airports in Vienna, Budapest or Prague.
By car
Slovakia has a road network of 18.130 km and its position in the Central Europe make it easily accessible by car. Travel times – by car – from Europe’s major cities to Bratislava varies from 1 to 18 hours. Motorway are subjected to a toll, which can be paid electronically or in a network of sales point. By train
Railways of the Slovak Republic provides railway transport services on national and international lines. You can get Slovakia by an international train from all its neighbouring countries and also from Germany, Switzerland or Balkan. On the routes between the Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic, RegioJet trains provide regular rail transport.

By boat
Slovakia has two international river ports, Komarno and the Port of Bratislava, which connects the city to international boat traffic by regular services. The main transport artery is the River Danube, which can be used for travel to Budapest, Vienna, Hainburg and other Danube river ports.
By bicycle
A very attractive way to get to Slovakia is by bicycle. Actually, EuroVelo 6 – Atlantic – Black Sea, which is one of the most popular EuroVelo routes, crosses the country following the Danube River. Taking this cycling track you will get Bratislava from Vienna, Komarno and Budapest.
